What We Do on the Outside of Your Home

Roof repair is where most of our work begins: a drip near the bathroom fan, a cracked rubber boot around a plumbing vent, a few tabs peeled back by wind. We also install new roofs, carry out roof inspections and storm damage repair, and take care of gutters and siding. All of it works together to keep water out of your home, so we look at the whole picture on one visit. Each service page covers its own steps and the things that drive its price.

About Roofing Newport KY

We are a local roofing company, and we would rather keep a good roof going than talk you into a new one. Plenty of roofs in this area carry patches from several different hands over the years. Working out which parts are still sound takes patience, and we give it that time.

Freeze and thaw through the winter opens small gaps around flashing and lifts tired shingle edges, and a spring storm can turn those gaps into a leak. Spotting trouble early usually keeps the bill small. If your roof truly is worn out, we help you plan the new one at a pace that suits your budget, with no pressure to sign on the spot.

What Happens After You Phone Us

Here is the order things go in, from that first conversation to the last sweep of your yard.

  1. 1

    A short conversation

Describe the stain, drip or damage you have noticed, and we agree on a day to visit. The estimate and the roof inspection are both free.

  2. 2

    A close look, with photos

We go over shingles, flashing, vents and gutters slope by slope. When there is a way up into the attic, we head in there too and follow any water marks back to their true starting point. You get the pictures and a plain-language rundown.

  3. 3

    Your options, smallest first

We lay out the repair and roughly how long it should hold. When a new roof is the smarter spend, we explain why with the photos in hand and price that option too, so you can compare.

  4. 4

    Work day and cleanup

Plants get covered, the work gets done, and debris and nails are cleared at the end of each day. On bigger jobs we pull the permit and set up the city inspection.

  5. 5

    A walk-around together

Once we finish, we show you what was done and mention anything worth watching over the next few seasons.

What Moves the Price of Roof Work

We price each roof on what it actually needs, which is why two houses on the same block can end up with very different numbers. Here is what pushes an estimate up or down. We go over the ones that apply to your home in plain terms.

Your estimate costs nothing and comes broken down line by line once we have seen the roof in person. If we uncover something unexpected mid-job, we pause and talk it through with you.

A fix or a full reroof
Sealing one flashing joint or swapping a few shingles costs a small share of a new roof. That gap is the main reason we check first whether the damage is in one spot or spread across the whole surface.
Square footage and steepness
A bigger roof takes more shingles, underlayment and hours. Steep slopes need roof jacks, harnesses and slower footwork, which adds labor.
The decking under the shingles
Nobody can see the wood until the shingles come up. Boards softened by years of slow leaks have to come out, and we photograph any we find and talk with you about them first.
Old layers coming off
Some roofs hold two layers of worn shingles. Stripping and hauling away that extra weight means more time and a heavier dumpster.
Chimneys, valleys and vents
Every chimney, skylight, dormer and valley needs its own flashing work. A plain gable roof with few openings costs less to work on than one cut up by many.
Materials and the permit
The shingle line, underlayment and ventilation you pick all change the number. A full reroof also carries permit and inspection steps, which we handle and include.

How We Look After Your Roof

Our habit is simple. We fix what can be fixed, and we say so plainly when a roof can't be saved.

The smaller fix comes first
If the trouble is a split pipe boot, a lifted run of step flashing or a handful of missing shingles, that is the job we quote. A new roof only comes up when the decking is spongy, the shingles have turned brittle on every slope, or old patches keep giving way. Even then, we show you exactly what led us there.
Licensed and insured
You can ask about either credential on the phone and we will happily go over the details. It means the people working over your head answer to a real business that stands behind the job.
A 10-year labor warranty
Our workmanship is covered for a decade. Should something we put on your roof fail because of how we put it there, we come back and correct it.
Pictures you can judge for yourself
Very few people ever get a close look at their own roof. We photograph what we find, from nail pops and cracked chimney sealant to granule loss in the valleys, and walk you through each picture so the recommendation makes sense to you.
Your yard looked after
Tarps go over flower beds and shrubs, and we keep the driveway clear for your car. At the end of every work day a rolling magnet goes over the lawn to pick up loose nails.

Questions Homeowners Ask Us

Something not covered here? (859) 667-1817

How can I tell if my roof needs a repair or a replacement?

It comes down to how far the damage spreads and what shape the wood underneath is in. A single leak, a few lost shingles or a cracked vent boot is almost always a repair. Shingles curling and shedding granules on every slope, or soft decking in several spots, usually point to a new roof. Our photos let you see the difference for yourself.

Is the estimate actually free?

Yes. Both the estimate and the roof inspection are free. We come out, look the roof over, explain what we found and what the work would cost, and you are under no obligation.

Do you have any offers right now?

We do: Limited Time — $50 Off Your First Service Call. Let us know you saw it while we are setting up your visit, and it comes off your first call.

Can you help after a storm if I'm filing an insurance claim?

We can inspect the roof, photograph the damage and write up the repairs it needs, which gives you solid information to pass along to your insurance company. The adjuster decides what is covered. We are glad to explain what we saw and answer the adjuster's questions about the roof.

What warranty comes with your work?

Our work carries a 10-year labor warranty. If something we installed fails because of how we installed it, we come back and make it right.

How long does a new roof take to install?

Most single-family homes take one to three working days, depending on size, steepness and how many old layers come off. Rain or high wind can push the schedule, and we keep you updated if that happens. Repairs are often wrapped up in a few hours.

How often should my roof be looked at?

Once a year is a sensible rhythm for most roofs, and again after a strong wind or hail storm. Fall is a good time, so small gaps can be sealed ahead of winter freeze and thaw. Older roofs and ones with past leaks benefit most from regular checks.

Do you work on gutters and siding too?

Yes. Gutters and siding both play a part in steering water away from your home, so we often check them during a roof visit. If a gutter is sagging or a section of siding was damaged in a storm, we can add it to the same estimate.
